HVAC: Entouch Integration

How to integrate your EnTOUCH thermostats with eSPACE

Although we no longer promote or sell EnTOUCH thermostats, if your facility already has EnTOUCH thermostats installed, here is the guide of how we can integrate with them.

Like all thermostat integrations, eSPACE only pushes occupied heating and cooling set points during events as an override. You can still continue to enter schedules in your EnTOUCH thermostats, as well as unoccupied setpoints.

Prerequisites

  • Thermostats must be physically installed and connected to the internet.
  • You must add COOLSPACE to your eSPACE subscription. Once you do, please email support at support@smartchurchsolutions.com advising them to configure your COOLSPACE account for EnTOUCH thermostats. Your eSPACE subscription will also need to include Event Scheduler since approved events in Event Scheduler are what schedule the thermostats.
  • We will then add the main admin to the EnTOUCH portal, which is managed by EnTOUCH. Once we do, you will be able to access your EnTOUCH thermostats from your FACILITeSPACE under HVAC > Portal.
    • (To add additional users to the portal, please read on. To switch the EnTOUCH thermostat account to be under someone else, please contact EnTOUCH support.

Switching to the FACILITeSPACE Module

1. After EnTOUCH has been added to your subscription and you have had support configure your account on the backend for the integration, log into your eSPACE account and click on "My Modules" at the top right and select FACILITeSPACE.

  • Only the admin with billing access who initially added COOLSPACE to the subscription will be granted immediate access to the Building Automations, but they can give access to other admins.

Once in the FACILITESPACE module, you can switch back to another module by clicking on the arrow next to the eSPACE logo and selecting a different module.

Integrations Dashboard

2. On the Dashboard, you will see the list of upcoming events and once your thermostats are synced and assigned to spaces and those spaces are reserved on approved events, you will be able to tell which events will affect HVAC or not.

  • After you set up the integration, read the section "Viewing Events that will Affect HVAC" for more.

Syncing & Assigning Spaces to Your Thermostats in eSPACE

3. Navigate to Integrations > EnTOUCH Stats in the left side menu bar.

  • On that page, A. you will see your list of thermostats that have synced to your account. Only the ones in your building that are connected to WiFi will appear.
  • B. You will also see an icon that is a summary indicator if there are any thermostats that have not been able to receive their schedule from eSPACE.
  • C. Click the "Global Settings" button to then see the button that says "Discovery Devices".
  • Whether it be newly added thermostats or you make thermostat name changes in your EnTOUCH account, this is the button that will need to be clicked in order for eSPACE to grab an updated list of your thermostats.

  • D. After all the thermostats load in on the page, click “the edit icon” for each thermostat and assign the correct corresponding spaces in eSPACE to that thermostat. If a thermostat controls temperature in more than one space, then make sure to assign all those spaces to that one thermostat.

Setting Global Occupied Temperatures for Events

4. Once you click "Global Settings", you will see the screen where you can set the default occupied cooling and heating set points for all thermostats for your events that eSPACE schedules.

Setting Temperatures for Individual Thermostats

5. To set individual occupied cooling and heating set points for a thermostat that eSPACE schedules, click the "edit icon" to the right for any thermostat and then in the slide out window, enter the occupied temperatures that you want for that particular thermostat.

6. In the pop-up box, you can also enter a number for minutes of ramp-up time. Ramp-up minutes will then have eSPACE send a schedule to the thermostats to turn on X minutes before the setup and start time of an event.

Viewing History of Setting Changes

7. On the History tab, you can view all the changes that are made by eSPACE users who have access to the HVAC integration regarding the settings of the thermostats. These settings are, however, separate than the settings that you can make within your EnTOUCH thermostats directly using the online portal or in person at the thermostat. For any questions regarding the setting of the thermostats outside of eSPACE, please contact EnTOUCH support.

  • The History tab simply tracks which eSPACE user makes which change to the thermostats that will affect the schedule that eSPACE sends when there is an event for that thermostat(s).

Viewing History of API Calls

8. On the History tab is also where you can view the log of the API calls which will include any and all recent schedules that eSPACE has sent to your EnTOUCH thermostats.

Viewing Events that will Affect HVAC

9. While all upcoming events will show on the integrations dashboard, any events with spaces that are assigned to thermostats will show without a red triangle icon. Any with a red triangle icon means that HVAC will not be affected and thus eSPACE won't schedule HVAC for that event.  This is because no spaces on the event are assigned to thermostats.

For any event that will affect HVAC, you will be able to click "Edit HVAC" and create an HVAC Override to specifically state when you want eSPACE to push the occupied setpoints to your thermostats for the event.

Giving Others Access to the HVAC Integration in eSPACE

10. Any user who is an Admin in Event Scheduler can be given access to the HVAC integration by the initial admin/billing contact, navigating to Users under Settings in the left side menu bar.

There, you will see the list of users in your account.

To give someone access, click on the edit icon, expand FACILITeSPACE Permissions, select the option needed. You can also select which locations they need to be able to manage via the integration.

Once checked, click "Save".

Unoccupied Setpoints

11. In order to set or change the unoccupied set points for all of your EnTOUCH thermostats, use the "Edit Site Schedule" opinion on the HVAC Control page.

12. The schedule and set points that initially appear on the "Edit Site Schedule" page is the default schedule for all EnTOUCH accounts. Therefore, once you change the schedule and set points for all your thermostats, this is not the page to see or verify those changes.

To change the schedule and/or set points for one or all thermostats, select to edit one of the days of the week.

13. Then adjust the times and unoccupied temperatures to be what you want for the thermostat(s).

14. Once you select the times, temperatures, occupancy status, and days that you want, click "Apply".

15. Select "Continue".

16. Select all the thermostats you want the schedule and unoccupied setpoints to apply to, type in a reason for the change, and then click "Save".

Checking the Internal Schedule & Set Points

17. To see those changes or to see the current unoccupied set points and internal schedule in your thermostats, click the orange and white calendar icon next to each thermostat.

Checking the Schedules Pushed from eSPACE

18. Click the white and blue calendar icon next to each thermostat to see the schedules/events pushed to that thermostat fro eSPACE. Keep in mind that only fully approved events are pushed in the API calls to EnTOUCH.

Adding Other EnTOUCH Users

19. In order to add additional users to the EnTOUCH portal to access the thermostats, navigate to your EnTOUCH thermostat account and click on Enterprise.

  • Click “Add Enterprise User” and start by giving them access to one location.
  • Then under Facility Group Access individually give the user access to each campus and specific features at each campus.

NOTE:

  • eSPACE controls your global schedule (which are set by the customer under FACILITeSPACE/HVAC/EnTOUCH Stats). You can still make changes to your EnTOUCH thermostats in your EnTOUCH account online, but once you assign thermostat(s) to a space(s) in FACILITeSPACE, the schedule from eSPACE will over-right any schedules made in EnTnTOUCH.
  • If you physically override a thermostat (in person or in the EnTOUCH thermostat account online), the schedules from eSPACE will not kick in until the next event. This does NOT apply to the activation of the thermostat via the Motion Sensor.
