I agree, we would like to have a checkbox or something for making a service category private/public and therefore hide/show the category on the form accordingly.

I would like to add to this by asking for an inactive feature for both events and work orders. For work orders, I would also like a second option for Public/Private to allow certain service categories to be for internal use only. An example would be for internally escalating issues to another team that doesn't need to be listed on the public form.

If Delete isn't an option, the ability to change status to closed, complete, etc. would probably be better.
